Substance abuse collection, 1970-1991.

Collection deals with drug and alcohol abuse, as well as policies about substance abuse on the Hofstra campus. The collection includes a report on "Students Against Drug Abuse;" campus drug arrests; Nassau County hospital drug abuse programs; Hofstra's drug and alcohol policies; and Alcohol Awareness week programs.

The Program for Higher Education of the Disabled was conceived of in 1963 and implemented in 1965. The goal was to provide opportunities for higher education to all academically qualified applicants.
